Fraud accused financier Stanford in hospital with heart problems

Financier Allen Stanford, waiting trial accused of defrauding investors out of billions, was taken to hospital with heart problems today.

Stanford was due to appear in a Houston federal courtroom for a hearing on whether he can get a new lawyer. His current one, Dick DeGuerin, has asked for permission to quit because he does not have assurances he will be paid.
