Woman arrested after baby's body found in boot

A 20-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder after a baby’s body was discovered in the boot of a car, police in the UK said today.

The grim discovery was made in Yeovil, Somerset. A woman from the county was arrested, interviewed and released on police bail pending further inquiries.

An investigation into the baby’s death is continuing and is expected to take some time.

It is understood experts have been called in to identify the infant’s remains, which were found on August 1, as they had started to decompose.
