Air crash bodies show fractures
Autopsies on victims of the Air France disaster suggest the plane broke up in the air, experts confirmed tonight.
A spokesman for Brazilian medical examiners said the victims had multiple fractures of legs, hips and arms.
A forensic expert who once worked at the US National Transportation Safety Board said those injuries could mean the plane broke apart in air.
Frank Ciacco said large chunks of the plane recovered are another clue.
Mr Ciacco said bodies and debris would be severely fragmented if the jet crashed intact.
Flight 447 crashed May 31 in the Atlantic Ocean with 228 people on board.
