Brown: Iranians deserve democracy

Iran’s leaders have “serious questions” to answer over the disputed presidential election, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown said today amid growing protests in Tehran.

As tens of thousands joined demonstrations against the declared landslide re-election of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Mr Brown said Iran’s people “deserve democracy”.
