Showdown could prompt Canadian election

The leader of Canada’s main opposition party is set to announce on Monday whether he will seek to topple Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s minority government.

Opposition Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff has warned he will try to topple the Conservative government if Thursday’s progress report on the country’s stimulus package didn’t show enough progress in rolling out funds.
