Man held in connection with killings of eight family members in Turkey
Police have arrested a man suspected of murdering eight members of his family in an “honour” killing in Turkey.
The victims, three of them children, were found in an apartment in the southern Adana region.
They were a nurse, her parents, her children and some of her siblings.
Adana governor Ilhan Atis said police detained one of the nurse’s brothers and seized a gun.
The victims were shot in the head and other parts of the body in the home they shared.
Officials said earlier police was investigating the possibility of an “honour killing” in which women are killing for alleged immoral behaviour and tarnishing the family honour.
