23 dead in Indian firecracker factory blaze

Twenty-three people have been killed in a blaze at a firecracker factory, an Indian news agency said today.

Another 48 were injured in the incident in Jalgaon, in western Maharashtra state.

The Press Trust of India news agency quoted Yogesh Pawar, a medical officer, as saying that the injured were being treated at a local hospital.
