US military: 27 insurgents killed in Afghanistan

The US military has said 27 insurgents have been killed in two separate clashes in southern Afghanistan.

Fifteen were killed during ground battles and airstrikes in Helmand province's Lashkar Gah district.

Another 12 died in neighbouring Uruzgan province.

There are no reports of Afghan forces or coalition casualties.
