Obama advisor warns on state of broadband
One of Barack Obama's economic advisors has warned that Ireland will fail to attract US investment unless action is taken now.
Doctor Robert Shapiro a former US under secretary of commerce said a number of factors will determine who invests here in the future and broadband availability will be crucial.
Dr Shapiro claimed that access to broadband is currently too low and needs to be improved.
Ireland also needs to continue to produce a large number of highly educated workers he added.
Dr Shapiro addressed a conference at UCD today
