Politician released after eight years

A 62-year-old politician who was held captive for eight years by Colombian rebels has walked free from the jungle, along with the young guerrilla commander who had been his jailer.

Oscar Tulio Lizcano is the first hostage of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia to gain freedom since the July 2 rescue of former presidential candidate Ingrid Betancourt and three US military contractors.
