'Sex on beach' couple appeal guilty verdict

The British couple convicted last week of having sex on a beach in Dubai appealed against the verdict today.

Michelle Palmer and Vince Acors were sentenced last Thursday to three months in prison, a fine of £130 (€167) and deportation.

The two were detained in July and charged with engaging in sex outside of marriage, drunkenness and public indecency.

The couple’s lawyer Hassan Matter confirmed the appeal was filed today, but refused to elaborate on its content.

A hearing on the couple’s appeal has been scheduled for November 18, according to the prosecution.
