China: 432 babies sick from tainted milk product
More than 430 babies are suffering from kidney stones after drinking contaminated milk powder, a Chinese state news agency said today.
The dairy that made the product has been ordered to stop production, the official Xinhua News Agency said, adding that the number of sick babies had risen to 432.
It said the Health Ministry had ordered Sanlu Group Co, China’s biggest maker of milk powder, to halt production.
It had sold the baby milk powder linked to the kidney stones in the infants.
