Iraqi officials say that at least 32 people have been killed when a car bomb targeted a police station in a mainly Shiite town north of Baghdad.

A police officer says the explosives-laden car went off near a police station in a commercial area in the town of Dujail.

However, the officer says that a medical clinic also has been heavily damaged in tonight's blast.

The police officer and a hospital official say that 43 people also have been wounded in the explosion. The two officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to release the information.
