Congo: 17 feared dead after aid flight crashes
An aid flight has crashed in Congo with all 17 on board feared dead.
The UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs said the Beechcraft plane went missing in bad weather yesterday with two crew and 15 passengers on board.
It was found today 10 miles from an airstrip at Bukavu in eastern Congo, its intended destination. Rescuers were trying to reach the site.
The plane was operated under contract to US-based company Air Serv International which said that an aerial survey by helicopter indicated there were no survivors.
