Mladic 'will be caught soon' says war crimes head

Serbia’s war crimes prosecutor said today he expected fugitive Ratko Mladic to be arrested soon.

Vladimir Vukcevic said he believed that the wartime Bosnian Serb military commander is hiding in Serbia.

Mr Vukcevic said that he does not think that Mladic has changed his appearance while in hiding, unlike his ex-political leader Radovan Karadzic, who was arrested last month and had grown long hair and a beard and dressed as a new age guru.

Mr Vukcevic said: “The two have completely different personalities”.

Karadzic and Mladic have been charged by the UN war crimes tribunal with genocide and crimes against humanity for allegedly orchestrating the 1995 massacre of 8,000 Muslim boys and men from Srebrenica.
