Afghanistan: US airstrike 'killed 47 wedding party members'

The head of an Afghan government commission investigating a US military airstrike in Nuristan province this week said it killed 47 civilians travelling to a wedding.

The airstrike on Sunday in Deh Bala district also wounded nine civilians, said Burhanullah Shinwari, the deputy chairman of the Senate, who led the delegation.
