China: Knifeman murders five police officers

A man bearing a grudge against Shanghai police stormed into a station and stabbed five officers dead.

Police said the 28-year-old started a fire outside the police station’s gate, then rushed inside and attacked officers.

Five officers died after being taken to a hospital, while four others and a security guard were wounded.

Police said the attacker was from Beijing and unemployed. They said he was seeking revenge after officers at the station investigated him last year for allegedly stealing bicycles.
