Swimmer rescues dinghy children
A swimmer rescued two children who were drifting out to sea in an inflatable dinghy, UK coastguards said today.
Lifeboatmen were alerted when the dinghy was spotted in difficulty off Dovercourt, Essex, England yesterday, said a spokesman for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
A member of the public reached the children first and pulled the inflatable back to shore, he added.
Coastguards said the youngsters were unhurt but given “safety advice” by lifeboatmen.
