UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has accused Zimbabwe’s government of preventing free and fair elections and called for an end to “the campaign of violence and intimidation”.

Mr Ban blamed the government of President Robert Mugabe for the events that led to opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai’s withdrawal from the run-off.
