Young surfer in shark attack in Brazil

A teenager was seriously injured when he was attacked by a shark while surfing off the coast of north-eastern Brazil.

Fire department spokesman Wilton Miranda said 14-year-old Juan Rodrigues Galvao de Franca was attacked while surfing off the Del Cifre beach, which is off-limits to bathers and surfers because of the danger of shark attacks.
