New job for accused rogue trader in France
The former Societe Generale trader accused of causing billions of pounds of losses at the French bank has got a new job.
A spokesman for Jerome Kerviel said he has been working for a computer consulting firm outside Paris for about a week.
Spokesman Christophe Reille said today that Kerviel was allowed to get the job because of a judge’s change in the terms of his provisional release from prison.
Societe Generale stunned the banking world in January by announcing over £3.5bn (€4.4bn) in losses caused by closing Kerviel’s unauthorised positions.
Kerviel is facing preliminary charges of breach of trust, forgery and unauthorised computer activity.
