Three dead in Barcelona gas blast

A gas explosion in a block of flats in the Spanish city of Barcelona has killed at least three people, a town hall spokeswoman said.

The blast and a subsequent fire early today in the Sant Marti district of the port city has injured eight others, according to Spanish news reports.
