Boys 'bring on postnatal depression' - Study
Women who give birth to boys are much more likely to suffer post-natal depression, according to a study published today.
Research on 181 women in eastern France found that “having a son is significantly associated with a higher postnatal depression rate”.
Experts behind the study call for more studies on the issue, but say giving birth to a boy also seems to affect a mother’s quality of life more negatively than giving birth to a girl.
