Police chief ambushed on tour of Iraq-blast site

Gunmen ambushed the Mosul police chief today as he was touring the site of a blast that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded nearly 150.

They then hit his convoy with a roadside bomb as it fled the scene, police said.
