Abbas: Bush's visit gives 'great hope'

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said today that US President George Bush’s visit to the West Bank is a “historic” event that gives the Palestinians “great hope”.

Bush is on a three-day visit to Israel and the West Bank to show support for renewed Israeli-Palestinian peace talks following seven years of violence.
