Brazil: Football fans killed in stadium collapse

Eight people died after a section of stands at a football stadium in Brazil collapsed as fans cheered at the end of a game on Sunday, police said.

At least nine people fell through a section of the highest stands at the Fonte Nova stadium in the coastal city of Salvador, and eight were killed, said Major Edmilson Tavares of the city’s federal police.
