A team of experts will begin disabling North Korea’s nuclear facilities on Monday, the US envoy said today, marking the Communist country’s biggest step yet to scale back its atomic programme.

Top US envoy Christopher Hill said in an interview aired by Japanese broadcaster NHK that the team would travel to North Korea’s main nuclear complex at Yongbyon, north of the capital, Pyongyang, tomorrow.
