Arms plant explodes in Italy
An explosion wrecked a British-owned weapons factory near Rome today killing one person and injuring 14 more, reports in Italy said.
The explosion occurred at the Simmel Difesa plant in Colleferro,35 miles southeast of Rome, police said.
The company, an Italian producer of medium and large calibre ammunition, was bought by the British-based Chemring Group earlier this year.
The factory has 200 workers and produces 300,000 rounds a year.
