Shots fired at US school
A student fired shots inside a northern California high school this morning, and deputies were trying to negotiate with him to put down the gun, authorities said.
No injuries were immediately reported.
A Butte County Sheriff’s dispatcher said an emergency call came in from Las Plumas High School just after 9am local time. He said deputies were talking to the student.
It was not immediately clear where in the school the student was or if he had any hostages.
A message posted on the Oroville Union High School District website says all six schools in the district are on lockdown.
