'Bulgarian medics tortured in detention'

The son of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi admitted in an interview with Al-Jazeera TV that the Bulgarian medics jailed on charges of infecting children with HIV-Aids were tortured during captivity, the pan-Arab network said on its website today.

The five Bulgarian nurses and one Palestinian doctor were released last month and have maintained that their confessions were extracted through torture.
