Russian spy agency probes MI6 recruitment

Russia’s spy agency said today it has opened a criminal investigation into allegations by a Russian man that he was recruited by Britain’s foreign intelligence agency, MI6.

The Federal Security Service said the information it received from the man indicated that British agents tried to recruit him between 2003 and 2007. The service, known as the FSB, last week identified the man as Vyacheslav Zharko, a former member of a Russia special forces unit.
