Migrants' boat capsizes in shark-infested water in Haiti
A boat loaded with Haitian migrants capsized today near the Turks and Caicos Islands and some 20 bodies have been found, some partially eaten by sharks.
A US Coast Guard helicopter was searching for approximately 58 missing migrants.
The police boat immediately recovered 63 people from the vessel after it capsized approximately one-half mile south of Providenciales Island in the Atlantic Ocean.
The island belongs to the Turks and Caicos.
Survivors told police there had been approximately 150 people on board the boat, the Coast Guard said.
The police boat, guided by the Coast Guard helicopter, also rescued 10 people who were found clinging to the hull of the capsized vessel.
An Associated Press reporter saw a dozen bodies that had been fished from the water and brought to South Dock, on Providenciales.
Some of the corpses had limbs chewed off.
