Blair expects a bruising as millions go to the polls in UK

Millions of voters go to the polls today in the government’s biggest electoral test since Labour won its third term in power in 2005.

The elections are expected to deliver a bruising parting shot to Tony Blair as he prepares to formally announce his resignation as prime minister next week.
