At least 30 die in shooting spree

A gunman opened fire in a dorm and classroom at a US university today, killing at least 30 people in the deadliest shooting rampage in US history.

The gunman was killed, bringing the death toll in Blacksburg, Virginia, to 31, but it was unclear if he was shot by police or took his own life.
