Japan airlines plane makes emergency landing
A Japan Airlines plane with 259 passengers on board made a successful emergency landing in western Japan today with one of its two engines out.
The Boeing 777-200 plane was on its way from Tokyo to Fukuoka when the starboard engine overheated and had to be shut off, said Japan Airlines spokesman Yoshiteru Suzuki.
The plane landed without incident shortly after 5pm (9am Irish time).
