Britain has begun the withdrawal of 600 troops from the European Union peace force in Bosnia.

Britain has begun the withdrawal of 600 troops from the European Union peace force in Bosnia.

The withdrawal of British forces, mostly Welsh guards, is part of a downscaling of the international peace force, EUFOR said in a statement.

As the situation in the Balkan country has been largely stable, EUFOR is reducing troop numbers from 6,000 to 2,500.
