Heavy fog forced the cancellation of 23 flights at Rome’s two airports early today, airport officials said.

Heavy fog forced the cancellation of 23 flights at Rome’s two airports early today, airport officials said.

Twenty flights, including ones to Vienna, London, Amsterdam and Paris were cancelled at Rome’s main Leonardo da Vinci airport, according to information posted on the airport’s website.

Three low-cost flights to Marseille, France; Bucharest, Romania; and Charleroi, Belgium; were also grounded at Ciampino airport.
