US Marine killed in Iraq fighting

A US Marine was killed in fighting in the volatile Anbar province, the military said in Iraq today.

The Marine assigned to Multi-National Force – West was killed yesterday during combat operations in the insurgent stronghold, according to a military statement.

Anbar stretches west from Baghdad to the borders with Syria, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
