Nurses accused of infecting children with HIV to appeal

Five Bulgarian nurses sentenced to death in Libya for infecting hundreds of children with the HIV virus have appealed against their convictions, their Libyan lawyer said today.

Othman Bizanti said he lodged the appeal on their behalf yesterday at the court where they had been tried on charges of deliberately infecting more than 400 children with HIV at a hospital in Benghazi.
