Democrats condemn Bush's war policy

Democrats relentlessly assailed President George Bush’s policy in Iraq as a catastrophic failure as the House of Representatives plunged into momentous debate on a war that has lost public support and cost the lives of more than 3,100 US troops and tens of thousands of Iraqis.

“No more blank checks,” Democratic Speaker Nancy Pelosi declared in Washington yesterday.
