Death toll rises in West Bank petrol-station blast

Welding at a West Bank petrol station set off an explosion that killed at least eight people and wounded 17 today, police and hospital officials said.

Firefighters put out the blaze more than an hour after the blast this afternoon, but rescue workers were still digging through the rubble late into the night.
