Nepalese govt to meet protesters' demands
Nepal’s government will meet the key demands of protesters in the country’s south, the prime minister said today.
The announcement follows protests in which 21 people have been killed.
Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala said there would be more seats in the national legislature and a guaranteed number of slots in the administration for representatives from the southern region.
Koirala made the announcement after meeting leaders of the seven ruling parties and former Maoist rebels who are set to join the government soon.
