At least 13 people were killed and 33 wounded today when a bomb hidden in a box of pigeons exploded at a market in central Baghdad, Iraqi police said.

At least 13 people were killed and 33 wounded today when a bomb hidden in a box of pigeons exploded at a market in central Baghdad, Iraqi police said.

The explosive device was detonated at about 10am local time at the Souq al-Ghazl or Spinning Market, which attracts buyers, sellers and farmers peddling birds, dogs, cats and other animals including sheep and goats.
