Doctors 'rescue Pinochet from death'

General Augusto Pinochet suffered an acute, life-threatening heart attack today and doctors performed an emergency procedure that “virtually rescued him from death,” the former dictator’s son said.

Doctors at the Santiago Military hospital called the heart attack “acute” and said Pinochet’s condition was serious but stable.
