Lawyers appeal Saddam death sentence
Saddam Hussein’s lawyers today appealed the death sentence against their toppled Iraqi leader, accusing the court of trying to delay the process.
Five Iraqi judges on November 5 sentenced Saddam and two other senior members of his regime to death by hanging for the killing of 148 people in the town of Dujail, north of Baghdad, following a 1982 attempt there on the life of the ousted leader.
