Chad military prepares for rebel advance

Soldiers have gathered along a strategic road in trucks mounted with machine guns as a rebel convoy was spotted heading towards the capital of Chad.

Usually bustling streets in the African country’s capital, N’djamena, quickly emptied at dusk yesterday as rumours flew that the rebels might arrive within hours.
