Sharon out of intensive care

Ariel Sharon was taken out of intensive care this morning, the Haim Sheba Medical Centre announced in Jerusalem.

The former Israeli prime minister, comatose since suffering a stroke in January, was moved to intensive care on Thursday when an infection threatened his heart function.
