Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe today said Japan would not build a nuclear bomb, and debate about that policy was “finished”.

His remarks in Tokyo came after foreign minister Taro Aso told parliament that Japan should openly discuss the possibility of obtaining nuclear weapons in light of North Korea’s atomic test.
