A top Russian envoy said today, from the North Korean capital Pyongyang, that North Korea had expressed the desire for a swift, negotiated resolution of the growing dispute over its nuclear programme, the ITAR-Tass news agency reported.

A top Russian envoy said today, from the North Korean capital Pyongyang, that North Korea had expressed the desire for a swift, negotiated resolution of the growing dispute over its nuclear programme, the ITAR-Tass news agency reported.

Pyongyang said it “wants to resolve the issues linked with the de-nuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula in the near future through negotiations,” the agency quoted Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Alexeyev as saying after a meeting with North Korea’s representative to stalled six-nation talks.
