13 killed in Chinese coal mine blast

A gas explosion in a coal mine in China’s south-west killed 13 miners early today, a government news agency reported.

Seven other miners were injured in the accident in Sichuan province, the Xinhua News Agency said, citing the provincial industrial safety office.
